Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art Wedding | Alexandra + Stephen

Alexandra and Stephen’s Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art wedding in Hartford, Connecticut was one years in the making.  Driven by a strong connection to the past of America, it is no wonder Alexandra and Stephen fell for one another amidst the study sessions and exams of law school. Naturally, their favorite place on earth is Washington D.C.  Enticing Alex with a show by the Washington Ballet, Stephen lured her to the Kennedy Center. It was there, over a glass of champagne on the rooftop, that he dropped to one knee and proposed. The rest, as they say, is history.

Finally, after much preparation, the day of their wedding arrived. Some photographs of Alex and her bridesmaids were captured at her parent’s stately home in Hartford, the bride glowing with delight as she prepared. The couple opted for a romantic first look with just the two of them.  Their happiness was captured forever in some gorgeous pictures on the staircase at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Following, a few family photos were taken amidst the grand architecture and famous paintings.

The ceremony was both dignified and beautiful. It took place at the Center Church in Hartford. This houses to date the oldest operating church congregations in the area. Chosen for its historic past and classical build, the shots captured here reveal the love and personality of Alex and Stephen.

After the ceremony, the party migrated back to the museum.  The group shared a night of laughter, well-wishes, and dancing amidst authentic and famous artworks. Though class and an appreciation for tradition mark this event, this couple and their guests knew how to party! The contrast between freedom, fun and gorgeous craftsmanship made for inspiring candid pictures throughout the night during their Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art wedding. One thing is certain, Alex and Stephen’s day combined love, tradition and a great celebration that will be forever remembered.
