Kim and David met at a barbecue ten years ago, and felt an instant connection. The two decided that an occasion this important required some different scenery, and flew all the way from London to New York City to elope. The New York elopement was gorgeous- managing to be classy, historical and understated all at the same time.
Kim wore a lovely white dress with long sleeves and a low cut back. She accented this with a fantastic vintage-style cape and unique blue and silver shoes. David was also picture perfect with a deep grey suit and sprig of greenery for his boutonniere.
The ceremony took place in the penthouse suite of the New York Edition Hotel. Simple decor of muted grey and white hues claimed the space, with blush pink roses and greenery scattering the tables throughout. A beautiful gold and silver Christmas tree was placed in the corner, which looked lovely lit up beside the couple as they exchanged rings and vows. Kim was proudly walked down the aisle by her nephew Ashleigh, and the ceremony was punctuated by the fifteen guest’s happy tears and smiles.
Post-ceremony, the two were whisked away to Central Park just in time for sunset, where some romantic shots were captured against the dark blue sky. When the lamps lit in the park, it seemed as though they had stepped back in time. Speaking of which, the newlyweds were also able to make it to Time Square to recreate the classic sailor and nurse photo beloved by so many from World War 2.
After the couple’s pictures were finished, they preceded to Per Se, a restaurant in the city, to meet up with their family for delicious food and some group photo opportunities.
The couple’s love for travel has taken them all over the world, and they plan to visit the Catskills for their mini-moon.There is no doubt that this New York elopement was charming, heartfelt, and absolutely right for Kim and David.
