Ballroom Weddings at the Plaza Hotel are elegant events that are situated in one of the many historical venues located in New York City. The Plaza Hotel first opened its doors on October 1, 1907. Since that time, the hotel has become renowned for its luxury rooms, glamorous ballrooms, and for the plethora of visitors who have stayed within the Plaza’s iconic walls. Today the Plaza is a dream venue for many New York City brides and grooms who wish for Ballroom Weddings Plaza Hotel. George Dennis and Chaimae held their wedding at the Plaza Hotel on July 2, 2010. The bride and groom held their wedding ceremony in hotel, and followed it with a glamorous reception in the Plaza’s Grand Ballroom. This image from their wedding day shows the bride and groom cutting the cake together. The newlyweds smile and laugh, as they cut into the lavish cake amid the cheers of their family and friends. The room is covered in the warm glow cast by the chandeliers that decorate the ceiling of the ballroom. The cake is illuminated by this light, and the grand scale of the cake is on full display. The cake consists of about five tiers, with each tier covered in white icing and decorative flowers. The flowers, also made of icing, were created carefully by the hand of the baker, resulting in the beautiful work of art that is seen in the photograph. This is a fun moment for the bride and groom, but it is one that also holds special meaning for them. As they each place a hand on the knife and simultaneously cut into the cake, the bride and groom complete one of their first tasks together as husband and wife. Cutting the cake is a simple, entertaining ritual, but it is also one that shows the couple as a team - as two people who have become one in marriage.
