Outdoor Weddings in New England combine the natural beauty of New England with the incredible festivities of a wedding day. This photograph from the wedding day of Brendan and Anne shows the bride, Anne, getting ready before the ceremony at Yawgoo Bakes in Slocum, Rhode Island. The picture was taken at the salon where Anne and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done for the big day. The wedding took place on a Saturday in July of 2013, so Anne’s hair was done up to keep it off of her neck in the heat of the summer sun. Fastened in her curls, a bright red flower peeks out, adding vibrant color to her attire. Once Anne has donated her wedding gown, the red of the flower will stand out boldly in contrast with the white of her dress. For now, Anne wears a pale blue button down shirt, as she is primped and transformed into a radiant bride. In the picture, Anne glances back at the makeup artist who is moving about the room, outside of the view of the camera. Anne’s hair is finished and now she is in the process of having her makeup applied to enhance the natural loveliness of her features. Her expression in this moment is poised and she appears calm as she waits for the makeup artist to return to her. Inside though, Anne’s blood is singing with excitement and anticipation of the events that are to come.
